"JUNO BEACH JUNE 6, 1944" SWEATSHIRT ǀ MEN ǀ "NORMAN SPIRIT"
*Juno Beach was the code name for the beaches where Canadian soldiers landed. Originally, it was to be called Jellyfish, and should have had for diminutive « Jelly », which seems inappropriate for the General Staff. It is Canadian Dawney who gave the name of Juno, referring to the name of his wife. This beach of nearly 10km (6 miles) is located between Gold beach (to the west) and Sword beach (to the east). Largely made up of sand and rocks, the German defence was weak because the rocks were supposed to prevent any landing attempt.
