The tank top is a popular French clothing born in the middle of the 19th century during the reign of Napoleon III. Legend has it that a "Fort" des Halles of Paris (long gone gross market) arrived one sunny morning with a sweater whose sleeves were removed, looking for to facilitate his movements and keep him cooler. The tank top was born. This workers garment was essential for the “Forts des Halles of Paris” but also among the workers of the surroundings. It was then industrialized by Marcel Eisenberg owner of a manufacture. Marcel Eisenberg will give definitively to this garment its identity, cut and style.
